New Program - Parkour!

Glenmore has just opened registration for our first parkour program!  Not familiar with Parkour?  Basically, it is an athletic disciplie designed around obstacles and using acrobatic methods to manouver through those obstacles.  It can include aspects of running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, jumping, plyometrics, rolling, and quadrupedal movement.  If you have ever seen an episode of a "ninja" TV program and the obstacles there, you will recognize parkour.

Think your Ninja-kid would like to give parkour a try?  Sign up for our sessions starting on January 8th!

Register here!

What is acrobatic gymnastics?

Acrobatic gymnastics is a partner gymnastics sport which includes balance, dynamic, and individual elements performed on the floor to music with choreography in synchronization.

Balance Elements:

Balance skills incorporate flexibility and handstands as well as transitions by both the bases and tops, in Women's Group and Men's Group, athletes will build pyramids that involve 3-4 people stacked on top of each other.

Dynamic elements:

Dynamic elements involve height, twists, and rotation in tuck, pike, straddle, or layout shapes. These elements are more instantly recognizable to artistic gymnasts and fans alike. They also involve simple to complex catches in a variety of positions.

Individual elements:

Individual elements include tumbling like one would see in an artistic gymnastic routine but also flexibility, static hold, and agility elements. These include skills like aerials, press handstands, and teardrops.
