The discipline of Acrobatic Gymnastics differs from artistic gymnastics in that the focus is on combining strength, balance, flexibility, and tumbling without the use of apparatus such as beam, bars, and vault.
This class will introduce your athlete to beginner acrobatic gymnastics and will teach your young athlete how to combine strength, balance, flexibility, and tumbling to perform skills that showcase all four. Using minimal equipment, athletes will learn these skills as both singles and pairs while gaining confidence in what they can achieve with those skills. Athletes will work on floor and trampoline apparatus as well as learning basic block work and hand balancing.
Recreational Acrobatic Gymnastics classes are 90 minutes in length for one day each week. Athletes in the Recreational Acro program may also have the opportunity to try out for Glenmore’s Competitive Acro Team.
