Recreational Gymnastics Coaches

What You Will Do



Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Provide quality training sessions with energy and enthusiasm!
  • Develop technical practice in athletes' programs that decreases risk, including space, speed and height awareness, landings, class control, cooperation with others, and determining athlete readiness for each level of activity.
  • Display coaching competency in making effective use of theoretical and technical knowledge.
  • Use training time to full advantage through effective equipment use, group work, stations, rotations, circuits, and clear communication that reduces listening time and increases activity.
  • Come prepared to teach with written lesson plans as directed by your Team Lead Coach. Evaluate and make notes after each class. Video resources and training by our Head Coach or Senior Team Lead are provided.
  • Record and maintain attendance records and class progress, including notation on risk management and prevention.
  • Complete administrative documents accurately and on time, including time sheets, evaluations, reports, and other records. Our system is based on continuous skill assessment and follows our gymnastics curriculum.


Education, Skills and Experience



Your education and experience include:

  • Preferred Level 1 certified coach or willingness to obtain NCCP certification within a year. We pay for your training.
  • Physical Education or Kinesiology year 2 student with one year of working experience with children in previous sport roles and willingness to pursue gymnastics certification within a year.
  • Strong class management skills and understanding of physical literacy.
  • Great multitasking skills with experience coaching circuit-based gymnastics classes.
  • Understanding how to provide constant constructive feedback, make course adjustments, and encourage athletes to achieve their personal best.
  • Ability to adapt to our level system, follow lesson plans, and adjust lesson plans when required.
  • Athletic mindset and healthy lifestyle.
  • Strong role model in and out of the gym who loves working with kids.


Required Certifications



  • First Aid and CPR certified
  • Respect in Sport


Glenmore Gymnastic Club is a not-for-profit gymnastics club established in 1978 that is centrally located just off Glenmore and Blackfoot Trails in Southeast Calgary. We are proud to offer quality recreational and competitive gymnastics programs in a safe, fun, energetic, and motivating environment.
