Our Health and Safety Culture
A positive gymnastics experience starts with safety, trust, and respect. Glenmore Gymnastics Club is committed to helping every athlete, family member, coach, volunteer, and visitor feel welcome, heard, and supported.
Our Commitment
We follow the principles of Safe Sport and work to provide a culture where everyone can thrive in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. Our goal is to support physical, psychological, and social well-being while preventing and addressing maltreatment in sport.
The Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS) helps sport organizations across Canada use clear language, shared expectations, and consistent processes when concerns are raised.
Safe Sport Helpline
If you have a concern, question, or need support, the Abuse-Free Sport Helpline is an anonymous, confidential, independent service. It can help you talk through a situation, understand possible next steps, and connect with additional resources.
The helpline is delivered by practitioners with expertise in counselling, psychology, and sport. Support is available in both official languages from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time, seven days a week by phone, text, live chat, or email.
The Canadian Sport Helpline is funded by the Government of Canada.
What Safe Sport Means
Safe Sport is a shared commitment to keeping sport free from maltreatment, discrimination, bullying, harassment, and abuse. It applies to athletes, coaches, officials, administrators, volunteers, parents, guardians, and everyone else involved in sport.
At Glenmore, that means setting clear expectations, listening to concerns, supporting respectful behaviour, and helping families find the right reporting or support pathway when something does not feel right.
Resources
These organizations provide education, reporting guidance, policy resources, and support for athletes, families, coaches, and sport leaders.
